I have 2005 Monte Carlo and I bought a keyless entry remote off amazon and I was looking on the Internet on how to program it but its telling me to use the buttons on the factory radio and I didnt have the factory radio in it when i bought it there was a different CD player put in.can anyone give me step by step. Best Answer: you need a GM scan tool 2 to program the remote there is no other way to do this, find a good mechanic locksmith with this tool or the GM dealer, the code needs to be program into the body control module and yes most likely the dealer is going to ask you for the factory radio because it is part of the BCM there is no other way of doing, there are no manual steps or buttons to press some instructions online are in case the vehicle forgets the original remote but not if you purchase new remotes good luck.
