Acer Aspire 1644wlmi Drivers Windows 7
Acer:: Aspire 1644 WLMi Windows 7 Drivers May 5, 2010 I newly installed Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire 1644 WLMi laptop. It did not pick up on the sound card, Wlan card and VGA. I tried the Acer website but their support is only for XP. How i could obtain the drivers or have a work around?

Sep 5, 2014 I've run the Win 7 upgrade adviser and it says the system can run Win 7 as it has CPU 1.6 Ghz and 2.0 GB of RAM. However in the device section it says that the Mobile Intel (R) 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset Family is not compatible - driver not compatible with Windows 7.
Is there a driver I can download to fix this problem? I've checked the Intel download web site but can't determine whether a driver exists or not?? Jan 16, 2008 I got a small problem with my Aspire laptop, it apears a small green line on my tft screen from the top of the screen till the bottum. If i push or pull the screen a bit forward or backward the green line disapear sometimes. I allready checked the connection plug from the tft to the mainboard it fits well,i try to open the screen itself (remove the plastic cover) but it dont seem to work there are 4 screaws located on the front side of the screen i removed them but the plastic cover dont open so i can check the cable connection inside and i dont want to break it. Yesterday I was working on my laptop, plugged in, but charging, about 40%, when all of a sudden it shuts down. I wasnt doing anything overly stressful, CPU's were each at about 50% load tops (Ubuntu 8.10, mysql, apache2, rythmbox, firefox, opera, some file browsers, pidgin). My initial thought was that the power supply adapter had gone - thus it was draining whilst i worked and i hadnt noticed (since the connector is a little worn). I noticed that the little green light was blinking rapidly on it. However when I unplugged it from the laptop, it returned to its static green state.
I went to remove the HDD today as i had to get my work from it, so I thought I would try to start it up anyway. Whilst removing the HDD i noticed an occasional clicking (3 little consecutive clicks to be precise, as if it were trying to start but just couldnt. This happened a few times, until I removed the battery, then it stopped. I can replicate this by turning it on and it will keep happening until I remove the battery. Also I have gone inside, attempted to clean any dust off and cleaned the battery contacts, so it is unlikely to be anything like that. I know its an old laptop these days and sometimes these things die, but this thing has been my baby. I learnt to code on this thing, I learnt Linux on this thing and I'm not giving it up without a fight.
Sep 28, 2008 So my g/f has bought this laptop from her brother for £100 and upon this he did tell us the battery is dead and the charger he is using ins't the official charger but the laptop works. Upon getting the laptop I decided to try and make the battery last longer by discharging and charging it a few times fully, but this has just completely stopped the batery from working, fullstop. So now I am having to run it off the power supply solely. I have ordered a new battery from ebay and made sure it is the correct battery by checking the model of the laptop, model of the battery and not only that it's £15 cheaper then getting it from shops. Dispite all that I still need to get a charger for this model, so I found one on ebay which said it was for the 5000 series but not my model, I emailed them and they confirmed to me that it wouldn't work for my laptop.
So now I am on the lookout for a charger for this laptop 5003WMLi but I don't know the model number for the charger so if anyone has an official charger for the 5003WLMi can they please post the model number so I can look for a cheap official charger. Or if anyone knows what watt, voltage I need then I could perhaps get a charger to suit my needs.
Dec 9, 2008 I have an Acer Aspire 5652 WLMi. I've just bought a new battery for it but when I insert it to the laptop after it starts it says 'This is not an acer battery please check your battery' and shuts off.
Also it doesn't seem to charge because the little orange light flashes instead of staying on. Do you know if there is a hidden program that doesn't allow new batteries? Oct 11, 2008 I recently sold my Aspire 5002 WLMi notebook to a friend who changed too many settings and mussed up the BIOS in record time. I got most back by using a restore point but noticed he had a BIOS password requirement for booting up. I went to change that and set the new password with blank fields.save and quit.reboot.and whoops.
Neither does a blank field nor his old password work now. In hindsight, I recall it was odd how some of his BIOS options had been greyd out and realized he must have a supervisor and another BIOS password. Swears he doesnt remember what he did. Now, we're locked out with 3 tries and error code 00000. I removed the CMOS battery but unlike desktops I've messed with, I cant find any jumpers or marked pads to short out. Read somewhere that Acer now uses some form of flash memory. I cant find any documentation on this and Acer hasnt answered my email.
Most of their sites dont even list this version of laptop. I bought it in Amsterdam at the end of 2005 but their Netherlands site is only in Dutch, a language I cant begin to decipher.
Anyone have ideas on this or possibly a motherboard schematic with lables? I looked at lists for Acer MB's and theres not a single number printed on here that resembles those lists I found.
Jan 14, 2010 My old Aspire 1690WLMi runs Windows 7, but can`t run Aero cause it has an integrated graphics card. Hard drive space is super tight since it`s only 80gb. Thinking of getting a new laptop around $1000, but also considering just getting a new 320gb hard drive for $100.
What do you think i should do - new laptop or new hard drive. Oct 15, 2007 I have a problem with my laptop and it's spdif optic output. I want to connect it to my hi-fi but I am having trouble with enabling digital output. I just don't know how to do it In my Realtek Mixer there are options only for analog outputs - no digital options at all. I use now the newest drivers, 1.70 or 1.77 - nothing. I've tried older versions, something like 1.30 and then spdif flashed red colour and I thought that it will be OK, but nope.
Still no sound and no digital options in Realtek's mixer. On these new drivers (1.7x) it doesen't ever light up. Someone here said that one cannot acutally see the LED inside blinking, well. I can see it As I told before on older drivers it's 'on' all the time - althou no sound. It slowly started a year ago (at that time still had warranty but underestimated the problem and now it expired). In all the black images(movies, photos) began to appear some green fluorescent dots that looks like they are living (in English I think is called flickering spots, jaggies?!) which then disappear and come back. I did not care at first because both appeared to disappear. Over time there have appeared more, followed by purple dots now. These purple dots are never in black image but sometimes they are the shadow of the black image.
But in videos with very dark black only come green dots (always flickering). In all the other colors there is no problem, for example I am writing this in Word and the blue and white of this image is not green. It is however in my opinion a little blurry, I do not know.
The letters are black (with a slight green Halo) but it seems that they arent standing still and shake a little. The most strange is that on the desktop there is a pattern of green dots on the bottom left and a purple on the upper corner that are often there but sometimes also move around. In fact there was not so long ago a time when I got a perfect image.
I began to think that the laptop went to very warm, open a part, cleaned the fan and reduce the processor speed by changing the temperature of the device. After a while it disappeared. But this improvement lasted only 1 day. Then it began all over again. I have also tried to connect the computer to another monitor and had a perfect image, so it seems that it is not the graphics. On the Internet I found many of these reports that the cable that goes from the graphicscard to the monitor is damaged and that a simple substitution leads to full restoration of the notebook.
Anyway before attempting to open the laptop (I've been watching some videos of how to do) like to have another opinion from someone who realizes this. I already took him ah repair but wanted 250 euro to replace the monitor with dead pixels (which I think is wrong they are not all dead, and until very squiggly and alternate location). For 250euros rather buy a new though economically not good for me. When the computer has a completely black image is all green.

I want to dual boot XP with the Vista that came preinstalled. I have two partitions on factory setup: one for VISTA OS and the other is labelled as DATA. I thought of formatting the second partition and installing XP on it. Is this possible? Would a boot menu be created? Or is there any other sequence in which i should install this.

Dec 7, 2014 I bought my Aspire E5-511G few days ago. I installed Windows 7 professional (x64) successfully. I installed all the drivers downloaded form the support section also successfully. The problem is that on approximately every 510 minutes I get the following message: 'display driver intel hd graphics drivers for windows 8(r) stopped responding and has recovered'. This message by itself is not annoying. The problem is that during skype video call after getting this message I don't see anymore nor my own video nor the video of the called.
Not only this, restarting the call does not fix the problem. The only solution is to restart skype but this also does not work everytime.
I had similar issue with youtube videos but I fixed the problem by setting NVIDIA as preferred graphics processor for the browser application, however I don;t have such option for skype.
