User information This user documentation explains to the user in the workshop the main functions of ISTA/P and the procedure involved in vehicle programming/encoding. This user documentation also explains the installation of ISTA/P. Can somebody help/clarify process of ECU replacement/programming/coding? As i understand when old ECU is totaly dead, no responding and its replaced by new, then it must first programmed ( as i understand enter proper programm for proper rights/things) then is coded for this vehicles, ( as i understand entered Machine VIN /BO numbers) otherwise control unit doesnt work properly, but i have questions where is this software/programm what must be entered in ecu?
Is it already inside ISTAP tool, or must be downloaded from BMW AG, or where? Easiest way( i hope) is when you replace already used ECU, but must be sure that this is for Your model, then You need only encode for Your car only.
